This is a now pagenow page — a small, honest answer to "what are you up to?" that isn't a LinkedIn post.1

Building
An internal evals framework.
So that "vibes" stops being a unit of measurement and "it feels better on Fridays" stops being a ship criterion. Slow work. Unglamorous. Currently his favourite kind.
Status: 60% built, 90% argued about
Writing
A longer essay on accountability.
In multi-agent systems specifically — where responsibility lives, where it leaks, whose inbox it ends up in. Currently on draft four and likely to be cut in half before it goes out.
Target length: shorter than this one wants to be
Advising
Two early-stage teams.
Both through the "is this a product or a demo?" phase. One leans demo, lovingly. The other is closer than they think.
Accepting: 0 new engagements this quarter
Reading
Meadows. Again.
Thinking in Systems, for the fourth time. Chapter on leverage points, specifically. He is starting to suspect he will be re-reading this book for the rest of his working life.2
On deck: Jinpa, A Fearless Heart
Avoiding
LinkedIn, 4pm meetings, the word "pivot."
Not as a pose; as a load-management strategy. There are only so many hours in a Tuesday.
Deleted posts: 4 this month
Learning
To sail small boats.
Progress: poor. Equipment: secondhand. Outlook: hopeful, damp. He is, it turns out, a better product manager than a first mate.
Capsizes this season: 2
§ Calendar
The next ten weeks, more or less.
Ahead
APR · w/17Deep work — evals framework, chapter on red-team flows. No meetings Wednesday.— head-down
APR · w/18Team offsite. He is, reluctantly, giving the intro. Will keep it under 12 minutes.— warm, brief
MAY · w/20Dinner with two advisees. Off-record, low-key. Probably one unresolved argument.— quiet
MAY · w/22Finishing second half of the accountability essay. Target: under 3,000 words.— drafting
JUN · w/24London keynote — Responsibility, measured. 40 min, no slides, one rehearsal.— on
JUN · w/26Ten days without email. Really. The inbox bounces to a polite auto-reply and he goes outside.— strict offline
§ Mood
Self-reported, honestly.
Optimism
Cautious. Day ten of the week.
Focus
High, at the edges.
Patience
Stretched, gently.
Sleep
Fine, if you don't look.
A now page is an honest answer, not a status update.
Changelog
2026 · 04 · 14Updated — swapped the sailing entry in for the pottery one. Pottery is on pause, pending a replacement studio and dignity.
2026 · 03 · 02Updated — took the keynote section out; added it back a week later, reluctantly, at a colleague's insistence.
2026 · 01 · 20Updated — replaced "reading four things" with "reading Meadows, again," which is the honest version.
2025 · 12 · 28Year note — took two weeks off, properly, for the first time in three years. Can recommend.
2025 · 11 · 05Updated — accepted fewer speaking slots than usual, on purpose. The ones left are better.
